Commercial Description:
Cask, Seasonal, Winter;
As the start to the New Year has passed, it is time to re-define those taste buds with this early season beer made with the finest English malt and traditional hops. Just like Saint George making his stand on the Dragon Hill many years ago, chestnut red in colour, with a dry biscuit after taste and a hoppy finish.

Bottle from Bellingers Garage, Grove, Near Wantage, Oxon. Consumed 28-05-09 Pours orangey/golden with a white head from a clear bottle! (when will they learn) Some light orange blossom on the nose but also sweetness in fact boiled sweets. Taste is a touch sweet but not too bad, tangy, some bitterness left coating the gums, bit fruity and malty. Its fine but with White Horse like many UK beers there is absolutely no comparison between the quality of Cask and Bottle so I shall seek out in cask and would imagine that this rating will soar at some point. Bottle, from Morrisons, Grimsby. Deep gold, thin white head and gentle condition. Slight fruity malt and grassy herbal hops in the nose, slightly metallic in the mouth with a touch of berry fruitiness developing but quite dry and thin, lingering flowery sweetness in the finish with some delicate chalky hop bitterness.

Cask Conditioned at The Castle, Furnival St., London
Hazy amber color with a thin head and a nice lace. It has initially a nice hoppy aroma, that goes away all of a sudden; earthy too, with light honey. Caramel flavor (good), very light smokey touch, light ashes, but unfortunately also a metallic touch is too evident, till later. Good.

A Mes rate: Cask at the Pembury Tavern.
Golden brown with just a thin off white collar but decent condition. Creamy caramel malt with faint vanilla notes and some delicate hoppage giving good balance. Really good hoppy bite in the finish. Very straight forward stuff but an enjoyable drop from a decent brewer.
