Cask, The Swan on the Rushes, Loughborough. Golden brown with red and a cream head. Aromas are biscuit malts with some roast aspects. Fruity with some sweet weetabix. Flavours are malty with bitter pine. Earthy and prickly towards the finish. Bitter on the aftertaste.

A Sim rate (cask at St Aldates Tavern): Sweet, malty aroma with apple and pear. Bland, but bitter flavour. Watery palate. OK, but not great.

Cask@Swan in the Rushes, Loughborough. Dark brown beer with a roasted and malty aroma. The flavour is malty, strongly roasted and bitter. Overall an average beer.

Cask, St. Aldates Tavern, Oxford RB crawl. Yellow/brown, airy off-white head. Almond pastry aroma, some plum and a little toasted chocolate. Dry plum skin fruit and light caramel flavor. Fresh balanced hops. Nice addition to the White Horse range.

Cask handpull, St Aldates, Oxford, RB Pub crawl 08. First beer of the day, and what a great way to start. Chestnut colour with thin beige head. Decent bitter with nice hop. Some syrupy malt, nutty flavours. Decent bitterness on finish.

Cask conditioned at St Aldates Tavern, Oxford on the Ratebeerian day around Oxford 09-02-08 Brown in colour, in fact quite darkish brown with a thin white head, some fruit on the nose leading to quite a fruity and tasty bitter, good bitterness throughout with quite a nice tang finishes quite sweet and malty.

Cask conditioned - handpump - Malt Shovel Northampton. A brown coloured beer with an off-white head. The aroma is dry and smokey whereas the taste has some light roast and hints of chocolate. Decent enough.Score 3.2

Cask (handpump) @ Wetherspons, Paridise Place, Birmingham B3, UK. Clear medium amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, burnt, caramel, light to moderate hoppy, pepper. Flavor is moderate sweet and moderate to light heavy bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft / flat. (140108)
