Some malt aroma. Mid brown coloured and slightly fruity with a bitter lasting malt finish. DruncanVeasey (2768), The Penguin’s Arms, Europe, Warwickshire, England
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 9, 2009 Cask, Hinckley Spoons. Thick creamy chestnut with a solid white head and clinging lace. Faintly nutty and herbal hop aroma. Gentle wash of clean biscuity and toffee malts, herbal hops, berry fruit. Finishes dry with dunked biscuit afters. Germanic, soft and nuanced. Chocolate and sourish fruit emerging; plum, strawberry, raspberry even. Developed a third dimension later in the evening, with more yeast, condition and fruit. Completely average, but The Best Beer in Hinckley Tonight. cgarvieuk (4227), Edinburgh, Scotland

Reminds me a bit of a doppelbock, with a roasty malty aroma with a hint of marmalade, and then a full body with notes of treacle and roasted hazelnuts. Very nice but could do with a bit more depth. imdownthepub (5188), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Feb 22, 2009 Cask conditioned at a Wetherspoons. Ruby to brown with white head. For all its looks it had still been badly treated, and to think I had been searching for this beer for a while. Fruity, smooth beer, little character even though you know that White Horse should be hoppy. Another good beer wrecked I reckon. bobinlondon (848), Harrow, Greater London, England

Tastes of caramalts with a dry hoppy finish. Reasonable body but lacking intergration of flavour. hughie (3087), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England

Ruby amber with a just off white head. ’You don’t want any of that,’ said the man beside me at the bar. ’Too dark.’ Sweet butterscotch aroma. Rounded earthy malt with a hint of chocolate and a sharp ashy bitterness. Rather better than the other bloke’s Pedi, if you ask me.
