mwelsh13 (181), Maryland, USA Sep 8, 2008 Firkin @ DuClaw Real Ale Festival. Medium brown-orange color with a slight head. Grassy hop aroma, sweet malts (brown sugar) aromas. Medium body, slightly sweet, toffee body. Nice balanced hops. Lightly hopped compared to today’s hop bombs. Very smooth. Nice low carbonation. I prefer it this way to the traditional kegs/drafts. KnN (306), Greenbelt, Maryland, USA Sep 7, 2008 Had this on tap from a small keg at the Real Ale festival in Bel Air, Maryland. Poured a cloudy amber color with not much head to speak of. Aroma was full of grapefruit hops and caramel malt. The flavor was juicy and sweet with a good hop twist. The citrus characteristics of the hops really popped, but the sweet malt actually played pretty nicely with the hops. Good beer. Would like to try it again. NomDeBeer (154), Baltimore, Maryland, USA Aug 15, 2008 Earthy hop aroma and flavors. Some grapefruit notes but this seems more like a Brittish interpretation of the style. Pretty good toffee and caramel malt sweetness. Good beer. KawaBomber (149), New Jersey, USA May 5, 2008 Tap @ Brew Pub: Slightly cloudy amber w/ a small off-white head. Floral hops & some sweet malts in the aroma. Bitter grapefruity hop flavor w/ some sweet caramel maltiness that tries to balance it out, but not quite. Not bad... hopdog (4645), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 11, 2007 At tap at the Red Station Brew Pub. Poured a medium amber color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of floral, citus and light caramel. Tastes of citrus (oranges), floral, and caramel. LIghtly bitter with a medium sweetness. More sweet than bitter.
