hopdog (4371), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 11, 2007 At tap at the Red Station Brew Pub. Poured a dark black color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of chocolate, roast, and light smoke. Tastes of chocolate, roast, caramel, vanilla and had a light coffee finish. Thinner body. Lacing left on the glass. scraff (1612), Baltimore, Maryland, USA Jul 19, 2007 Black, smooth creamy tan head with great lacing. Deeply roasted chocolate and mint coffee and cream nose. Soft flavors of burnt coffee, chocolate, and toasted grains that rounds out with a bittersweet finish. Light bodied, smooth and soft throuoghout. One of the better offerings here. Nicely done... sneagrams3 (1342), St. Louis, Missouri, USA Mar 21, 2007 Sampler from the brewpub. Deep and dark with ruby highlights. Layer of tan head. Nice coffee aroma. Slight anise flavor. Smooth and hand drawn. Creamy with a good coffee flavor. Little light on the body. But a great palate. Aurelius (2443), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Dec 9, 2006 Very dark, creamy head, beady bubbles on the side of the glass. Pleasant, dark cereal aroma. Flavor was a letdown -- milk cereal and light coffee/chocolate. It came across a bit watery. Buffered, but left a coffee-char aftertaste. ramoned (1999), Tigard, Oregon, USA Jan 15, 2006 Aroma is mild chocolate and coffee. No suprises there. Color is black with a cascading mocha head. AGain as expected. Flavor is slightly roasty int he fore followed by the expected chocolate, but then it does turn dry and finished clean and abrupt. This one didn’t really wow me either, but again I found it to be an enjoyable easy to quaff brew.
