| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 23, 2009 Dark reddish brown colour with a thin short lasting head. Aromas are of grassy hops and caramel and subtle roasted notes. The palate is nutty, hoppy, roasted malt, soft and creamy but short. Quite bitter on the finish too. Nothing outstanding here and while this is ok for a session beer it is too light on for a Dark Ale.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 22, 2009 Bottle. Lovely-looking beer - colour of leatherwood honey, dense, creamy beige head. Good lacing. There’s honeyed malt on the nose too as well as citrus, flowers and spice. Taste is mild coffee malt, some earthiness and nuts. Gentle but lingering bitterness at the finish. I was underwhelmed the first time I tried it, but no, this is subtle and good. There’s no hint of open ferment wild funkiness though. bluevegie (2213), Perth, Australia
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 16, 2009 Tried on tap at Little Creatures also at White Rabbit Brewery and the Tas Beerfest 09. Clear, bright brown body short but nearly lasting head. Brussels lace. Malts on the nose as well as some spice which varied from place to place. Hints of dry dark chocolate in the taste, some caramel late, a hint of crystal with a fairly dry finish. Excellent drinkability. jonno (586), Brisbane, Australia

They had this at the Little Creatures stand at the show, glad I tried it!
Deep amber body with offwhite head.
Aroma is a nice combination of fruity, citrusy hops and rich toffee.
Quite thick texture and full bodied, carries the flavours very well.
Flavours of burnt toffee and mild roast chocolate malts mixed in with grapefruit and pine spice hops. Finishes with a reassuring bitterness.
Damn tasty, can’t help but think Little Creatures Dark, but that’s probably just because they were at the same booth. jimmythechippy (20), , Australia

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 1, 2009 Bottle - Cloudy Brown with bit of particulate. Lots of flower/fruity hop aroma and sweet (molasses?) malt. Malt didn’t reall come through in the flavour, but the flowery/fruityness did; also got a small hint of bubblegum. Medium bodied with a dry lingering finish. Nice beer but at over $20 for a 6 pack at my local bottle shop, can’t see it being a regular for me!
