White Winter Plum Mead

on tap at GTMW ’08. pours clear reddish orange, no head. plumy cherry aroma. fruity, plum, vanilla, paint thinner.

Sampled during the GTMW ’08. Pours a clear light salmon mead with a clear top and some light bubbles in the ring. Aroma of sweet honey, dark pitted fruits, some alcohol character and a touch of tropical fruit. Taste is slightly syrupy bodied with a nice balance of plums, honey, and a touch of creme tatar. Finish is sweet honey and light fruit aftertaste. I would easily put this up to some of the best Japanese plum wines any day.
