RBSG 2007 Grand Tasting. Clear straw, no head. Smooth, sweet honey nose and flavors, more honey than I’ve ever tasted in a mead. Just a hint of oak. The body is silkier than I have ever experienced in any liquid. Just, WOW.

From a 750 ml bottle shared at JK’s Spring Gathering, pours a clear golden yellow color as a premium white wine appearance. Aroma of sweet clover honey, maybe a slight sweet orange but the sweet honey is very present. As this mead comes to room temperature, taste is very sweet sunflower honey, flower pedals and a touch of dill. Palate is very thick and smooth as silk but not too syrupy. A sweet finish, smooth and light-medium bodied. Absolute awesomeness. Over the top quality product.

And then skyview goes ahead and brings this rockin mead! Light yellow color with no head. Sweet honey aroma, like I just popped the cap on a jar of clover honey. The taste is superbly alcoholic honey. It strikes a great balance for the mouthfeel, is strong on honey, light with vanilla and not screaming in alcohol. Complex taste is not here, but I don’t think that’s what it was trying for and it is beautiful as is.

750mL bottle, courtesy of Skyview. Thanks, Bob! Pours a clear, medium straw color; headless, with decent legs. Generous, honey-laden and floral aroma; dense, layered honey character. Full mouthfeel: intense honey and viscous sugar character; floral, honeysuckle, and vanilla; hints of pear; intense sweetness without overextending itself; this goes down so quickly; lengthy, honey and sugar finish; minimal show of alcohol.

Thank you skyview for sharing. Oak and honey on the nose on an exceptionally well done sweet meed.

Thanks to Skyview for sharing. This is very sweet, like drinking honey. It has more honey aroma and honey flavor than any other mead I have tasted. Very sweet, smooth palate. It goes down way to easy for such a potent drink.

Light yellow of color without any head. An aroma of honey, sweets and spice. A flavor of fruits and spice.

Bottle, 11.5%. Weak sweet aroma. Very pale yellow colour. Sweet flavour, spicy with some nice apple juice. Sweet aftertaste, more apple.
