Pours a nice yellow straw color-light to let the light through with a tiny little white bubbly head that disappears quite quick.
Smells great, much more aroma then you would expect from a lager. Some grass and hoppy notes with a tad of citrus.
The hops is great in this lager and is the overwhelming factor. Slightly bitter with some light floral hints too-tastes great.
Finishes slightly dry with a bit of bite to the hops and a little unbalanced, but overall is nice.
I was quite impressed by this overall and quite happy-I haven’t tasted an Irish beer like this before. I’d like to see more of this around and hope that it all tastes like this! jmized (1), Pace, Florida, USA does not count | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 20, 2009 My wonderful wife brought this direct from Dublin. After a night in the frig and a hard day at work I treated myself to the single 500ml bottle of Belfast Lager. I’m a simple drinker of beer, i.e. not a ’taster.’ That said, the first few swallows had a mildly bitter edge. However, that was simply palate prep for a very enjoyable beer. The 4th sip on was wonderful and exactly how the brewer must have meant it to be. jerc (3954), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Flavour has a sweet pale malt base but has a lot of floral hops to it, pleasant bitterness grows a bit as you go, lingering floral hops. (6+) Hoppy aroma is very floral, noble hops. (6+) Average plus palate is very good for a lager. (3+) Pretty decent lager, but I am not partial to the hop profile. Bottle at Bierhaus, Cork yespr (12411), Copenhagen O, Denmark
