Dry and bitter to slight spiced hoppy flavoured. Subdued malt note. Unusual bohemian given the UK hops profile - I got no what so ever Saaz from this. A lovely clean gold colour with a thin white head and superb condition. Creamy and sherberty hoppage in the aroma with some gorgeous strawberry notes, plenty of tobacco and lemon. Really drinkable stuff. Slight card is expected but there is a decent amount of hops here. Quite dry and tarty. Some decent background malt. A decent bottled UK pils. Not bad. Quite fruity and has that slightly Germanic straw taste, a tad flat - quite nice. JorisPPattyn (5192), Antwerpen, Belgium
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Sep 24, 2006 Deep golden colour, good carbonation to medium, white head. Toasted & herbal nose; toasted malts mainly, and (grilled?) artichoke, and a whiff of rancid fat or maize (=fatty acids?). Dry, malty taste, less toasted than the nose. There remains, however, a hint of racked corn flavour, maizeshoots-oil, that sits uneasy on something that is supposed to be Bohemian-style Pilsner. Retronasal I get some pineappleester. Light to medium bodied, slightly oily MF, leaving a sticky deposite on the old mucoses (as Bertie Wooster would have said). One question defies all other concerning this "Pilsner": IS it a Pils? What kind of yeast was used upon these Saaz-hopped worts? SilkTork (4184), Rochester, Kent, England

It has been lagered but no further filtering appears to have taken place. Quite beefy for a lager. This tastes like a lagered golden ale. Quite fizzy. Scent notes. Somewhat interesting, though not neccesarily that attractive. harrisoni (6946), Ashford, Kent, England

Lagery aroma but with more citrus than you would expect. Even slightly medicinal. Fine if a bit thin. Hop citrus finish is ok. More of a golden ale than a lager to be honest Earlier Rating: 3/7/2006 Total Score: 3.4 Bottle from Good’s Shed, Canterbury. Hazy gold with thin white head. A bottle conditioned pilsner? Citric, hop, biscuit malt aroma. Sharp and cutting in mouth. Hoppy and crisp on finish. Good pilsner. I like it. Aroma is great. Very impressive but more of a golden ale than a pilsner, but drinkable Hildigöltur (5109), København, Denmark

Very fruity flavour with yeasty notes. Rather sweet and slightly dusty. It does not taste of Czech pilsener at all. You can taste that it is brewed on an ale plant.
