SaintMatty (1195), Tallinn, Estonia Sep 10, 2009 Cask (Market Porter, London) - Copper coloured. Fruity aroma with caramel, dried fruit and some hoppy hints. Fairly fruity taste with notes of toffee, caramel, hops and tea. TBone (6675), Pori, Finland Aug 19, 2009 Cask@The Whearsheaf.
Clear amber color, small steady white head. Fresh hayish hoppy aroma, and I am not sure - maybe a glimpse of diacetyl. Hayish, dry, slightly sour flavor (cask is in condition but has just a bit sour feeling). Watery finish.
imdownthepub (5086), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England Jul 18, 2009 Cask conditioned at The Bell & Crown, Canterbury. Copper colour with white head. Quite a thinnish, tinny, harsh type bitter, some grainy roasty notes with a sweetish note. Pretty average and a little unexciting. sm89walt (431), Norwich, Norfolk, England May 27, 2009 Cask - The Bell & Crown, Canterbury. A chestnut colour with the merest hint of a head. Grainy, nutty and mildly fruity aromas. The grainy character again comes through in the taste, which is a touch off-putting. Other flavours include some earthiness and some sweet maltiness. Not terrible, but easily overshadowed by their IPA I had beforehand. Magicdave6 (5383), London, Greater London, England Apr 24, 2009 Cask in the market porter. Alround rating: Nice fruity session bitter, hints of berry fruit over grassy herbal bittering hop. fonefan (10868), VestJylland, Denmark Mar 24, 2009 Cask (handpump) @ Market Porter, 9 Stoney Street, Southwark London, Greater London England SE1 9AA. Clear medium orange amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, burnt caramel, burnt sugar, citrus acidic notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and acrid bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20090102] berkshirejohn (1759), Bracknell, Berkshire, England Oct 2, 2008 Cask at the Hope Inn, Hythe. Brilliant amber brown with a thin cream head; aroma of dry hops and malt; strongly bitter taste with an underlying sweet malt base. SilkTork (4151), Rochester, Kent, England Jul 29, 2008 Updated: Aug 6, 2009July 2008 Kent Beer Fest, The Cow Shed, Canterbury. Dark copper colour. Decent enough traditional session bitter. [2.9]
July, 2009 Whitstable Brewery Bar, Whitstable seafront A decent session bitter - some hop awareness and fruity malt. Good drink - though feels a bit thin and sugary. [3.0]
