Black pour with a small beige head. Coffee, malty aroma. Roasty, coffee, malty, rich fruity taste. Not bad. TBone (6675), Pori, Finland Aug 10, 2009 Cask@GBBF 2009.
Opaque black color, small beige head. Strong licorice aroma, some coffee. Flavor is lighter than aroma. It has dark coffee, some milk chocolate and other toasted flavors. Very good flavor but overall too light. Maybe ok with oysters.

Medium sweet roasted flavour, licorice with a touch of charcoal imdownthepub (5087), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England Jul 19, 2009 Cask conditioned at The Kent Beer Fest, Canterbury. Black with cream head. Rich chocolatey flavours with a darkly roasted body, plenty of fruity notes, with coffee and a salty background. Really very good. jgb9348 (2492), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA May 2, 2009 Deep pitch black coloured body with a muddy brown head and a nice lacing that leaves the side of the glass beautiful. Aroma of mild roasted malt, raisins, toffee, oak and a bit of vanilla. Medium-bodied; Strong roasty flavour with some light sweetness and a decent amount of bitterness soon behind. Aftertaste shows very subtle flavours mainly consisting of roasted malt, tobacco and some molasses. Overall, a nice and very subtle beer - perfect for a warmer day! I sampled this 330 mL bottle purchased from the Utobeer Market Stall in Borough (London), England on 13-December-2008, sampled on the Eastern Shore of Virginia (the other side of the pond) on 02-May-2009. fonefan (10868), VestJylland, Denmark Mar 23, 2009 Cask (handpump) @ Market Porter, 9 Stoney Street, Southwark London, Greater London England SE1 9AA.
