Cask handpull at Rigby’s, Liverpool. Copper colour with lasting beige head. Slightly earthy bitter, some fruit and malt. Bit home brewery. Very earthy. Bit like a bad bottle conditoned ale. Really quite poor.

Cask conditioned at The Woolpack, Banbury. Clouded gold with slight head. Thin, slightly dull, sweet malty beer, a little fruity, maybe a touch of peach, but all very low key. Some background roasty notes, but little write about. Quite average.

A Mes rate: Gravicask at the White Horse in Hedgerley.
Golden brown with a thin white film. Aroma of tea, tobacco and some unbrewed malt. A nice straight down the line bitter flavour, well balanced just lacking a bit of character.

On gravity at the Bristol Beer Festival 14/3/08. According to the festival notes this is a new beer. It was pale amber in colour with a slight, off-white head. Aroma had some sweet malt, earthy hops and a hint of tobacco ash. The flavour also inclined towards sweetness, with a touch of fruit, roast malt and a dry finish. Ok.
