| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 22, 2008 (Bottle) This has to be the best organic beer I’ve tried so far; up until this point they’ve all been decent but falling short of the best beers. This one is actually dry: very little sweetness, which I love. No sourness either; instead there’s just a rich malt flavor and a rich roast flavor, and a good deal of bitterness. I like it! It certainly beats most of the imported Irish stouts. Beershine (2686), Hue, Vietnam
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 22, 2008 Dark brown, good lace. Aroma is sweet roasted coffee. Palate thins out at the end. Flavors are mainly malty and although dry it lacks hop bitterness. nearbeer (1834), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Mar 18, 2008 12 oz. Nearly opaque with a small but lasting, creamy head. Nice bitter chocolate espresso aroma. Flavor is malty molasses on front, turns quickly to cocoa, then a nice char and coffee finish with some green herbs as well. Great bittersweet roasted malt aftertaste. Medium body is smooth, with some hoppy tongue-tingle and a small nod to the dry side. Slipstream (747), USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Mar 11, 2008 Updated: Mar 12, 2008I did not realize this was a Whole Foods exclusive. Shouldn’t it be listed under North Coast Brewing? The head is weak and fizzy, and the nose is sour-sweet and acidic. This is a light-bodied, smoky stout. I can taste chocolate, tobacco, and a little yeast. Mildly hopped, with a light aftertaste. This is pretty tasty, but it is another languid beer from North Coast. I have not yet tried a great organic beer, and I am not sure why that is. DenverLogan (421), MileHi, Colorado, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 7, 2008 Thank you Tom/After4ever for yet another US stout :) It’s dark brown with a red hue and a huge, nice and creamy head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, coffee, light licorise and anise. The flavour has a light sweetness, notes of roasted malt, coffee, licorice and a light bitterness. It’s on the weak side, but still it has a rather long finish. michael-pollack (2652), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 2, 2008 12oz. Bottle: Weak aroma of roasted malts and chocolate. Poured dark brown/mahogony in color with a medium-sized, rocky, khaki head that diminished but lasted. Clear. Sparkling. Good lacing. Flavor of bitter chocolate and roasted malts. Pretty boring flavor. Medium body. Slick texture. Average carbonation. Bitter chocolate and roasted malt finish. Not dry. Pretty boring overall, though not bad.
