| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 29, 2008 Pours dark brown with reddish highlights and a tight, pillowy, beige head that deposits creamy lace in its wake. Chocolate and roasted malt are on the nose with a touch of spicy hops hiding in the background. Medium-bodied and soft, the mouthfeel is oily-slick with a roasted, lightly bitter finish. Dark roasted malt, ash & chocolate malt combine into a failry tasty beer. It almost seems like a blend of a robust porter and a dry stout. Regardless of what you call it, it is one of those beers which comes together in a way that the sum is greater than its parts; a solid, quaffable stout. fakepurseninja (777), Washington, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 26, 2008 Suprising amber appearance for this stout. Medium bodied with a nice chocolate malt accented backbone. Moderate to heavy roasted essence with a good hop presence in a milky, think chocolate milk, stout body. henry3r (586), Wichita, Kansas, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Feb 25, 2008 The 12 ounce bottle poured a clear, deep ruby red colored beverage with a modest sized frothy tan head that was mostly lasting leaving good lacing on the glass. The aroma had a strong presence of cherries and dates with notes of coffee and caramel. The body was a bit thinner than I would have liked it with average carbonation and a watery texture. The flavor started out a bit sweet (for a dry stout) and then became unpleasantly bitter. badlizard (2343), Berkeley, California, USA

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Feb 11, 2008 Bottle: pours a darkish brown with a thin tan head that quickly disappears, aroma has a touch of chocolate and malt, taste is malty with a thinish mouthfeel. This isn’t too bad but there is nothing special about this that would make me want to buy it again. BrewDad (2366), Olympia, Washington, USA
