Commercial Description:
Brewed for Whole Foods. Old Plowshare is a full-flavored Celtic style Stout. Smooth and firm-bodied with the bold flavor notes of dark roasted malts. Because Old Plowshare is organic it remains true to the time-honored Irish tradition of respect for natural ingredients. A great pub classic or the perfect Black and Tan.

Roasted cocoa and molasses nose. Bready and slightly lactic up front on the palate. Mocha and coffee notes come in at the midpoint with a lingering over roasted lactic finish.

huh, i was pouring this and i thought to myself as the large pale brown head formed on the dark brown body, boy this smells watery. then i thought, hey asshole, water doesn’t have a smell, or at least it shouldn’t then i realized 2 things, this smells like ronsonol and particle board cut witha dull blade and that i really need to take a leak. enjoyable burnt notes with a coffee and cereal flavor. dry non butter popcorn flavor lingers. no defineable choclate or caramel flavor here, and that is all right. this is one of those beers that leaves my tongue on the roof of my mouth. not too shabby.

Brown body with a small, creamy tan head. The aroma is brown sugar, light roast and milk chocolate. The flavor is chocolate and lots of acidic, bitter, roasted malt, some molases as well. Medium body with moderate carbonation and a bit of astringency.

Poured a clear deep chestnut color with a creamy beige head. Roasted and fruity aroma. Sweet and lightly smoked. Fruity and roasted with a sweet finish. Some coffee notes and a light bitterness.

Really enjoyed his one. Pours a dark brown/black with a toasted head. Smells wonderful of chocolate, like a chocolate sundae. Taste is also very good, with sweet chocolate, molasses and a bit of anise. Loved it.

Picked up at WIld Oats supermarket in Detroit. A dry stoat, but not overly. Chocolate primarily and some coffee aroma. Decent dark appearance. Serviceable stout.

Bottle. Nice stout. Pours dark almost black with a nice head. Aromas of toast, molasses and roasted malts. Flavors of a cocoa, chocolate, a bit of caramel. Has just the right amount of carbonation and body, not overpowering.
