Commercial Description:
Brewed for Whole Foods. Old Plowshare is a full-flavored Celtic style Stout. Smooth and firm-bodied with the bold flavor notes of dark roasted malts. Because Old Plowshare is organic it remains true to the time-honored Irish tradition of respect for natural ingredients. A great pub classic or the perfect Black and Tan.

Very nice chocolatie stout. Rich roasty dark chocolate flavors with a great balance. Smooth on the palate with a good body to it. Pours dark borwn witha small tan head. Very well built stout balancing a good chocolate character with a lightly hoppy bitter finish.

Bottle given to me by a buddy - thanks David! North Coast certainly do stouts well, as we all know, but this one is probably the least of their offerings. It’s still quite tasty, with a vigorous body, big chocolate malts, and a pleasant roastiness. But nothing particularly memorable.

Bottle purchased at Bodega Blue... Clear, dark mahogany ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. Excellent retention. Nutty, creamy milk chocolate nose. Nice roast. Chocolaty, toasty flavor. Balanced well... not sweet, but not burnt nor bitter. Medium-bodied with a skim milk mouthfeel and fizzy carbonation. Lengthy, coffee, lightly bitter finish.

Pretty good! It poured a brownish-black hue, no head, aroma was of mild coffee malts and cocoa. Flavor was a mocha like blend rich and smooth similar notes through out. it was rather light on the tounge, otherwise a geat beer

Creates a soft pillow of a head, Color is a dark brown that has light still able to shine through. Aroma is a little roasty of malt and coffee but the flavor is more stronger serving of these two flavors. Creamy and easily quaffable.

12 oz. bottle - first ’organic’ bear that i’ve tried; lacked taste and flavor; very thin and flat when poured into glass

Bottle from Astor Liquors in Laurel, MD. Pours deep brown with a thick fizzy beige head. Aroma of coffee, dark roast, and chocolate milk. Medium thin palate. Flavor of mild and smooth roasted coffee beans, with a hint of unsweetened chocolate. Finish has a very soft bitterness with hints of caramel and raisen. Not bad. I liked that it was packed with flavor without being thick and chewy.
