DavidP (1743), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Jan 5, 2007 Bottle. Clear dark brown body. White rum / caramel aroma with just a touch of the dark stuff at the end. Good flavor - a well blended mix of sweet golden raisin-y sweetness with coffee bean roasty chocolate. Just-velvety mouthfeel - compliments the overall strength well. A fine stout! dwyerpg (2519), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Jan 3, 2007 Smells very nice. Looks good. A thick solid dry stout, could be used as a sounding board for the style. Good stuff. HighGravity (890), Baltimore, Maryland, USA Dec 31, 2006 I like this stout. I wonder if this recipe is the same as Old No. 38, but organic. This beer is light, but favorable. There is a nice balance between coffee, chocolate, and spicy hops. kopher (295), New York, USA Dec 18, 2006 Dark brown. Coffee and malt aroma. Flavor is a bit weak, some dirty chocolate malt. Medium/heavy body and nice creamy feel and finish. jazz88 (2235), San Francisco, California, USA Dec 13, 2006 Bottle. A dark brown color with a diminished tan head. A slightly sour aroma with salt, roasted malts, and a touch of chocolate. A malty, slightly burnt, coffee and nut flavor. ajolly2 (123), USA Dec 1, 2006 Dark mahogany color. Shallow head. Thick lacing. Coffee bean aroma. Taste is acidic with coffee and oats tones. Very nice aftertaste that I can’t quit place. I am often left disappointed by organic brews, but this one was very pleasing. redlem (1155), Illinois, USA Nov 30, 2006 Opaque black with a small head. Aroma of whole coffee beans in a plastic bag that was filled with hay. Taste is dry, thin, and bitter. A decent dry stout but I know that the term "organic" has many meanings and not all of them good. A marketing term. Rynoplasty (500), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Nov 23, 2006 Updated: Dec 15, 2006Medium body, thin for a stout but with strong chocolate/coffee aromas. Very smooth to drink with strong coffee aftertastes. Head is minimal but the beer has a more carbonated taste than most stouts.
