| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Mar 15, 2006 12 oz bottle. Clear dark brown color, red around the edges. Foamy tan head. Aroma is roasty and dominated by coffee and chocolate. Promising chocolate notes up front, but falls flat in the middle. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 14, 2006 Bottle into a snifter. Beer pours a clear, very dar, nearly opaque brown color with a large, light brown, frothy, mostly and quickly diminishing head. The aroma is heavily malty with pleasing notes of slightly husky, roasted grain and coffee; Moderately hoppy with a note of resin/pine; Moderately yeasty with notes of damp basement and cheese; Trace miscellaneous notes of cinnamon, honey and coconut. The flavor is lightly bitter, moderately acidic and lightly sweet with an average-length, slighly warm, lightly bitter, moderately acidic finish. The body is light, the texture is watery and the carbonation is average. CaptainCougar (5407), Rockville, Maryland, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 14, 2006 Bottle thanks to Degarth: Pours a barely transparent dark mahogany brown with a nicely-lacing, frothy off-white head. Lightly sweet, dry roasty aroma has some dark chocolate notes. Body starts with a sweet crystal and roasted maltiness with a drier, chalky mouthfeel becoming more prominent toward the finish. An ok dry stout, but nothing special. harlequinn (2745), Tacoma, Washington, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Mar 13, 2006 A really light dry stout, a little too much carbonation, came bubbling out of the bottle. Lots of licorice and molasses, dry and roasty, with some chocolately malts, but overall very thin and weak.
