| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 18, 2006 bottle-i bought a 4 pack of this with high expectations. I was a little let down i must say. This beer poured crimson red, a little too lite for a stout if you ask me. An off-white colored head topped the beer for a blink of an eye. aroma of toffee, char, dark roast, anise and leafy hops. flavors are big organic, astringent leafy hops and unprocessed grains. Very astringent. some char and roast make their way in there but its all over the top. Some salt in the finish. Finish is overly dry from the earthy/leafy organic hops. not very pleasant if i must say. palate is lite and watery, over-carbonated and spritzy. the organic hops add a spice to the finish as it warms. unique, but not a very good stout. Aroma is heavy on roast with lesser notes of caramel. Somewhat bittersweet finish. Lacks complexity to keep me interested. travita (1921), Frisco, Texas, USA

Aroma has some cocoa and dark malt flavors and it is slightly buscuity. Taste is of roasted malts and some cocoa. A little weird in the after taste.

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 12, 2007 huh, i was pouring this and i thought to myself as the large pale brown head formed on the dark brown body, boy this smells watery. then i thought, hey asshole, water doesn’t have a smell, or at least it shouldn’t then i realized 2 things, this smells like ronsonol and particle board cut witha dull blade and that i really need to take a leak. enjoyable burnt notes with a coffee and cereal flavor. dry non butter popcorn flavor lingers. no defineable choclate or caramel flavor here, and that is all right. this is one of those beers that leaves my tongue on the roof of my mouth. not too shabby. tronraner (1917), Seymour, Tennessee, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 19, 2007 12 oz bottle. Pours dark brown with beige head. The aroma is quite chocolatey with some medium roast coffee and a little bit of almond. The flavor starts off with a candy-bar chocolatey sweetness, but then some coffee bitterness mellows it out a little. Some nutty tones emerge in the middle, but it thins and gets a touch carbonic in the finish. Nice dry, ashy aftertaste, though. emacgee (1887), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA
