Commercial Description:
Brewed for Whole Foods. Old Plowshare is a full-flavored Celtic style Stout. Smooth and firm-bodied with the bold flavor notes of dark roasted malts. Because Old Plowshare is organic it remains true to the time-honored Irish tradition of respect for natural ingredients. A great pub classic or the perfect Black and Tan.

Pours out a deep dark brown color with a small tan head. Flavor is nice and malty. Aroma is malty and has nice hints of chocolate. Over all a nice brew.

nice aroma on this fine stout with a grape and cherry sense to it. deep dark it gives off red unto the light. light coffee that is roasted and lightly sweet. a little light on the body but fair to the palate. best organic i ever had.

Charcoal and currant nose with mild cocoa notes. Dark brown with a thin tan head. Moderately intense flavor of sour currants and parsley. Bark and parsley finish. Good strength and balance.

I liked this brew. Had a rreal nice flavor with a ’graininess’ to it which really lended to the character. It went down smooth and dry. a real find.

Pours black with a very thin beige head. Standard stout chocolate and slight caramel malts with a hoppy aftertaste, good tasting beer, thin and easy to drink.

Pours a dark brown color with a tan head. Nice roasted malt aroma with chocolate, coffee, and some molasses. Flavor is also strong on the roasted malts right away with a decent slightly bitter and dry finish. A little suprised with this one.

Bottled. Pours a deep dark brown color with an ivory colored head. Roasted aroma with chocolate and toast notes. Thin mouth feel and flavor. Chocolate and roast malts. Notes of coffee and some spice. A bit astringent. Finishes bitter. Very similar to a milk stout IMO. Re-Rate. I saved three out of the four bottles I purchased over a year ago. Lets see if age has done anything for this beer. Nope.
