Distinct milk chocolate aroma, with milder caramel notes. Dark garnet color, not opaque! Tan clumpy head. Chocolate flavors. Dry. Fairly light even for a dry stout.

Brew is light chestnut in color with a well retained beige colored head. A bit light in color for a stout. Aroma is pretty solid, with toasted nuts, cream, and some coffee in the background. Flavor is pretty tasty. Coffee, chocolate, cream. The finish is dry and bitter. I don’t think the palate is thin. This is a dry stout, not an imperial. Good beer.

Dark brown medium bodied stout sporting a thin beige head. Chocolate, roasted malts higher alcohol in this overall Dry Stout. Picked Old Polwshare up @ Total Wine in Cherry Hill, NJ. There was no mention of it being brewed for Whole Foods on the label.

12oz. Bottle: Weak aroma of roasted malts and chocolate. Poured dark brown/mahogony in color with a medium-sized, rocky, khaki head that diminished but lasted. Clear. Sparkling. Good lacing. Flavor of bitter chocolate and roasted malts. Pretty boring flavor. Medium body. Slick texture. Average carbonation. Bitter chocolate and roasted malt finish. Not dry. Pretty boring overall, though not bad.

Dark beer that shines with mahogany colors when held against the light. Big, rocky beige head. Lots of dusty chocolate in the nose, with plenty of fresh cereal grains and malted milk balls. Flavors of coffee, dusty chocolate, malted milk balls, and an almost berry fruitiness under it all. Interesting flavors, but not my favorite stout.

Whole Foods, Sandy Springs, Ga. - 12 oz bottle. Very dark, ruby red - brown cola like pour without the fizziness - not much of a head, what’s there is khaki-colored. Bittersweet chocolatey and earthy aroma. Flavor has a bit of that earthiness as well with some bittersweet chocolate seeping through and a back end of French Roast Coffee. Faint traces of licorice in there as well. Mouthfeel is a tad thin for a stout. All in all, just a tad above average, had much better from North Coast.

Dark brown pour with smallish brown head. Has a roasted coffee nose. Flavor is full of roast with hints of dried fruit, and coffee.

(Bottle) Pours a mahogany body with a moderate off-white head. Aroma of milk chocolate malt balls, lactose, caramel, and nuts. Flavor of roasted malt, coffee, and chocolate with a dry, somewhat bitter finish.
