It poured a brownish-black hue, no head, aroma was of mild coffee malts and cocoa. Flavor was a mocha like blend rich and smooth similar notes through out. it was rather light on the tounge, otherwise a geat beer BückDich (4853), McCall, Idaho, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 6, 2006 Dark brown, ruby color, tan head, nice lacing. Nose of light lactose, creamy roast and sweet mocha chocolate. The flavor is balanced, nice snappy acidity and dryness accentuated by the full body and roasty character. A bit rustic and definitely not too clean, which adds a nice chewyness and richness. I really like this one. Finishes balanced. Crosling (1854), Loveland, Colorado, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Jan 30, 2006 Different, multi-dimensional dry stout aroma, which gives hints of espresso and coffee, but also a nice variety of fruits and chocolate. Nearly opaque black color, with a thin but lovely colored light tan head. Flavor brings a medley of rich malts into play, which bring several different flavor characteristics. Really rich body as well. Impressive beer. DenverLogan (421), MileHi, Colorado, USA

Very smooth, and just a little fizzy. A very pleasant and mellow stout. mcbackus (751), Merritt Island, Florida, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 31, 2009 The beer pours with a big tight tan head with a deep almost black color, when held up to the light there is a deep ruby hue. The aroma is good oats, chocolate, chocolate malt, a good roastyness and overall kind of sweet smelling, but nothing over the top. The flavor is drier and bitterer with some good coffee and a little berry like fruitiness, the beer is abounding with earthy hops. This is a very solid stout. checkmatei1 (630), Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, USA
