Commercial Description:
A distinct blend of hops, malt and citrus fruits. The slightly sweet taste turns into a fine, dry bitterness with a lasting finish. Very moreish and an award winning classic ale.

Cask handpull at Plough & Harrow, JDW, Hammersmith. Copper colour with lasting cream head due to the sparkler. It’s alright. Some ok malt in mouth vague hop dryness on finish, but the swallow and malts are decent enough

Bottle, 500ml. A copper colour with a small head. A sweet caramel and hop aroma. A hoppy flavour with some caramel sweetness, fresh hops and a little bitterness. Very light carbonation. Very drinkable.

Half pint, hand pulled real ale at The Market Porter, London Bridge. Copper body, slightly cloudy. Some initial floaters on the surface. Flowery hops to the nose. Late fruits and resinous hops in flavour followed but hints of late arriving bitterness. Fine example of the style (01.08.2009).

Bottle. Slightly hazy amber colour with small off-white head. Aroma is caramel malts, some fruity and flowery hops as well as mild nectary and wooden notes. Flavour is quite much the same in a nice balance. Also some slight nuttyness.

Cask (EBF2008)
Slightly dusty aroma. Some fruits in the taste, coconut, and some tingly bitterness. Fruits include banana. Very complex for a best bitter. Long hoppy finish, and a grainy late finish. Excellent UK best, let down only by a weak aroma.
