Sep 22, 2009 Cask in the market porter. Alround rating: Bittersweet toffee and caramel, with grassy floral hop some pepperyness in the finish. But i dont like bittersweet character in beers makes them cloying.

Sep 13, 2009 Cask conditioned Handpump Market Porter Borough Market. A dark amber coloured beer with a whitish head. The aroma has a bit of fruit and also some toffee. Nicely chewy and fruity in the mouth with a good body. Unmistakably an old ale even if it’s lighter in colour than average. Pretty good

May 19, 2007 Cask-conditioned at the White Lion, Bristol. This beer struck me as similar, but inferior to, Uley Old Spot. Dark ruby brown with a slight head. Aroma was of dark fruit and malt. Flavour was of raisins, toffee and a touch of marzipan. Drinkable stuff.

Dec 18, 2006 Cask (handpump) at The Colonies, Westminster, May 2006. I’m afriad any Old Ale characteristics of this beer passed me by. Seemed like a fruity, malty best bitter to me. Smooth and easy drinking. I would have preferred a bit more bitterness and hop bite.
