Sep 8, 2007 Poured a hazed copper hue with nice boisterous white head. Nose of bright grapefuity hops. Slightly sweet and somewhat bitter. Pretty average all around, but the hops blending is very nice.

Aug 25, 2007 Broken Halo (on tap) is an average IPA at best. It’s got the hoppiness of a quality beer, but there’s not much else by way of caramel, spice or citrus. I’ve tried Broken Halo a couple times, and it always just seems a little dull. It’s really a cookie cutter beer to me.

Aug 22, 2007 bought at HEB with gift card, mainly because there was not one other beer that i had not had. The Aroma of this beer is lovely-flowery hops in a field... Pours is a hazy light copper gold mixture....Lacing is truly choice!... The bitterness is this beer is enjoyable, not overdone but point on, the sweetness is also apparent, not quite balanced but still tasty!
Overall, much better than expected (coming from widmer) and i would recommend this product when looking for a simple no frills IPA..

Aug 4, 2007 This draft brew from the brewery poured a head of bubbles that were and left behind a transparent softly carbonated yellow colored body and a fair lacing. The mild aroma was malty. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and strongly tingly at the finish. The mild flavor contained notes of hops. Not one that I would likely buy again. A poor ipa.

Jul 31, 2007 Bottle. Light hoppy aroma, not very spicy or fruity. Kinda dead. Light medicinal notes. Golden amber dull clear with rocky off-white head. Medium watery body with medium carbonation. Medium maltiness with some sweetness. Decent flowery bitter hops finish with a light bitter after. Nothing too exciting, but OK if not watery.

pours a semi-clear yellow-orange, with a very thin head that doesn’t stick around for long, and some lacing.
smell of grapefruit, earth, some pine, some citrus, and caramel.
taste is a little creamy, slightly bitter, nice balance of hops and malts, some caramel, and just a little sweet, ends with a dryness on the back of the tongue, as it warms becomes less sweet and has more flavor.

Jul 25, 2007 (Tap @ JP Hops House): Pours a little head, whitish. .Color of amber red/brown, clear. Fresh hoppy aroma, bitter, weakish. Strong sour bitter taste, grapefruit aftertaste. Bitter sour aftertaste. Too bitter. Warming up, it balances a little better, but still unbalanced bitter.
