Commercial Description:
Broken Halo IPA is a beer produced in the spirit of traditional IPA products shipped from the UK to India in the late 1800s. The almost excessive amounts of Cascade and Columbus hops used in Broken Halo give it notable citrus and grapefruit aromas and flavors. The beer bitterness measures high but tastes smooth due to the full-bodied, Caramel malt sweetness. The finish is juicy, clean, and short lived. A devilishly bold, heavenly smooth India Pale Ale. malts: PALE, CARAMEL 10L & 20L,carapils hops: ALCHEMY, CASCADE, zeus

Bottle from HEB.dated APR0307. Poors a golden amber color, decent white head. Good hop taste with very slight map to the ratio. Nice clean flavor. Decent IPA though I think it could use a bit more hop.

On tap at Pete’s Lair Tavern in Milwaukie, Oregon. Pours a clear dark golden pale brew with a thin white head thatquickly dissolves to a fine film. Aroma of sour citrus with some orange peel, and light caramel malt. Taste is medium bodied, well carbonated with flavors of roasted caramel malt, some grapefruit zest and some mellon character. (this is different) Finish is slightly sweet with an orange zest aftertaste.

Hazy amber/gold with a small offwhite head. Aroma is hops with a hint of malt. Full bodied with a creamy/foamy mouthfeel. Sharply bitter, but still some underlying sweetness for balance. Classic west-coast American IPA. Very nice.

Pours a dark orange color with a white soapy head. Smells of hops and malt. Tastes like pears with hops and has a medium bitter finish that is short. Overall decent but there are many better IPAs out there.

@Mountain Beerfest-on tap-pours a disappearing white head and gold color. Aroma is citrus hops-cascade and something else. Taste is citrus hops-cascade and something else, very dry, hint of medium malt. Occasional. OK effervescence.

An ok brew, starts with plenty of hops, but mellows out quickly with the malt, Some slight citrus, but just abit too sweet for me, drinkable, but I’ll pass next time.
