Commercial Description:
Broken Halo IPA is a beer produced in the spirit of traditional IPA products shipped from the UK to India in the late 1800s. The almost excessive amounts of Cascade and Columbus hops used in Broken Halo give it notable citrus and grapefruit aromas and flavors. The beer bitterness measures high but tastes smooth due to the full-bodied, Caramel malt sweetness. The finish is juicy, clean, and short lived. A devilishly bold, heavenly smooth India Pale Ale. malts: PALE, CARAMEL 10L & 20L,carapils hops: ALCHEMY, CASCADE, zeus

12 oz. bottle. Spun gold color, with a good solid head. Decent lacing. A nice, lighter side IPA. Hops not overpowering, but tasty.

Beer pours clear golden color with a retained egg white head and heavy lacing. Beer is seriously hoppy in aroma with heavy citrus, especially grapefruit. Essentially one dimensionally hoppy, but hey this is an IPA. Flavor is likewise citrus hop juice. I really like this.

12oz bottle given to me by whaleman (thanks for looking out for new IPAs for me!). Poured a medium and cloudy oragne color wtih a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of juicy oranges, grapefruit, and light caramel. Tastes of citrus and light caramel. Lighter bitterness. Subdued IPA.

A good IPA. It stands out because it is very hop resiney. Just the right about of bitterness and good floral citrusy flavor. Malt sweetness comes through well too. Nice summer beer.

Deceptively light, but deeply hopped. Can’t find much in the way of malts here, but this is Hopslam level bitterness.

Pours a cloudy, sparkling amber with very little head. Nice hops aroma of primarily pine, slight citrus notes, little wet straw. Rather insipid and unassertive in the mouth, especially for an IPA; bitter & quick finish, again with some fruit notes. Not a good example of the style IMO.

Misty amber pour, nice citrus pine hoppy aroma. Medium sweet, light-medium body, good bitterness balance and overall hop and malt flavors. I liked it and would buy a sixer of this for an everyday beer.
