Tybalt (56), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Nov 6, 2006 A decent IPA. Has that distinct hoppy flavor that characterizes all other IPAs - nothing less, nothing more. If anything, it may be a bit smoother than a lot of IPAs out there. Because of that, I wish I would have tried this one before I really started liking IPAs and maybe I would’ve started drinking them sooner. Now, however, I’ve had plenty of other IPAs that I’d rather have on a regular basis...but if you’re new to IPAs, give this one a shot. Shag (1922), Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA Nov 5, 2006 A yellow appearance with a lemon and perfume aroma. Some pine notes show throughout the beer. I taste some grapefruit, lemons, and oranges. A nice bitter finish. A good IPA. duffman462 (160), Gainesville, Florida, USA Oct 23, 2006 A good IPA, but certainly nothing special. Pours a golden color, with an aroma of hops. Flavor is mostly hops, although by no means the hoppiest IPA out there. Malt is mostly subdued, so the finish is mostly lingering hops. A good beer, but not memorable. ratman197 (3139), Arvada, Colorado, USA Oct 10, 2006 On tap poured a hazy golden amber with a diminishing off white head. Aromas of carmel and light citrus. Palate was light bodied. Flavors of carmel and light generic citrus with a bitter finish. A boring one dimensional IPA. beerinmarch (2781), Alabama, USA Sep 26, 2006 From the bottle. I’m not the biggest fan of this beer, tastes very unbalanced, and not even in that overhopped NW kinda way. Tastes like they just used way to many bittering hops, just massive bitterness instead of massive flavor hoppiness. Very crisp and sharp bittering that kinda makes me sick of this brew after half the bottle. Aubrey (2773), Denver, Colorado, USA Sep 21, 2006 Light golden-orange with a frothy head. Inviting nose of cake and hops. Body was lightish and steely, with a lively carbonation. Malt flavors were nice, with a decent level of sweetness. Hops were sharp and citrusy, and had a nice "green" quality. Some pine cones, too. Bitterness was a little bold, especially in the aftertaste. Overall, perhaps it was lacking a little depth, but it was a solid IPA. beerguy101 (3861), Newark, California, USA Sep 20, 2006 This IPA pours a deep orange gold color from a 12oz bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is floral and piney hops, touch of caramel fruit. A medium to full bodied IPA. Malts are fruity and sweet. Hops are piney and floral and a touch of citrus. Juicy hops. Lively carbonation. Nice balance. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter. DrunkenWeasel (218), Portland, Oregon, USA Sep 15, 2006 A rather middle of the road IPA. A middle amber color with a fine amount of piney hop smell with some caramel malt notes. Tastes slightly hoppy with a few malt notes. Nothing special but a decent aftertaste with a slight hop kick but some yeasty taste to it that wasn’t so pleasent.
