Widmer Brothers Broken Halo IPA

Pours golden with tight white head that fades away but leaves good lacing. Fair amount of co2. Some grapefruit, pine and grassy notes in the aroma. Good caramel flavor from the malt with moderate to high bitterness level and good aroma. Pretty smooth as far as IPAs go. Good not great.

Probably the best beer I have ever had from Widmer outside of their Snow Plow seasonal. Still pretty weak for the style though, not nearly hoppy or flavorful enough.

22oz bottle. Pours clear amber in color with foamy white head. Aroma citrus hops and grapefruit. Taste hops and grapefruit with grapefruit bitter finish.

Mild IPA, not over hopped. Drinkable, sharable, and made for a wide target.

Tap. A golden beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet and lovely grassy adn grapefruity. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of grass as well as grapefruit, leading to a dry bitter finish.

12oz bottle from Belmont Station, Oregon. Cloudy golden color with just a ring of white cream. The aroma is piny and resiny. Attractive. Flavor is sharp and citrusy with plenty of pine and resin. A very nice IPA.

pours yellow with good size sud-head. smells pretty standard for a ipa, if not a little weak. tastes pretty standard as well. nice sweetness, good hop balance. 6.0 abv being on the lower end for an ipa, this one does seem a little thin. more like a hoppy Pale Ale like Sierra Nevada. Picked this up from bevmo for 10.99 / 12pk. For that price you really can’t go wrong. Not a big fan of this brewery, but this one isn’t bad. Love the big lacing on this one, and the carbonation bubbles wildly in the glass. cool looking drink. not upset about this. nite!

Draught @ Widmer Brothers Gasthaus, Portland, OR. Pours a clear golden color with a small white head. Has a malty hoppy citrus aroma. Sweetish malty hoppy bitter citrus and grapefruit flavor. Has a slighlty sweetish malty hoppy bitter finish.
