kamish (92), Lake Stevens, Washington, USA Jul 20, 2008 this beer is a poor representation of the widmer name. once again the IPA’s are not the beer for me. tried it though. 944play (64), Santa Rosa, California, USA Jul 18, 2008 Updated: Aug 19, 2008This is by far the most interesting beer available at the corner store between work and home, so it is a common Friday night brew for me. 12oz bottle poured into weizen glass. Pith of grapefruit dominates the nose. This is about as much hops as I can enjoy. Stays sharp and refreshing as it warms. Malts recede. Pretty well exemplifies the style for me, and I like it. POSTSCRIPT: Absolutely does NOT pair with Vietnamese dried cuttlefish snacks! shevanel (9), Arizona, USA does not count Jul 13, 2008 A great and balance IPA. Smelled of light citrus and perfume, and heavy hops. A little flat on the carbonation and surprisingly watery. The flavor was a little dull with some light flowers, but overall a swell IPA. Ungstrup (14754), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jul 6, 2008 Draft at the brewery tap. A golden beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet and lovely grassy adn grapefruity. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of grass as well as grapefruit, leading to a dry bitter finish. mar (1740), Rowlett, Texas, USA Jul 3, 2008 pale gold color with a 1 finger off white head. not a bad hop scent that is a tiny citrusy. a very toned down hop profile that doesn’t get bitter until the beer finishes. fairly decent ipa here. alexanderj (2213), Chino Hills, California, USA Jun 30, 2008 Bottle purchased at the airport; don’t think that I have seen this one before. Color was gold with a smallish head. Aroma of citrus/grapefruit with some earth and grass. Flavor was surprisingly good; grassy hop flavor was better than most that I have had. Balanced nicely with some toasted caramel. unixweb (237), Sherman, Texas, USA Jun 28, 2008 This brew has a very small head in the glass, almost flat, with a nice golden color. The smell is hoppy, bitter, like that of the inside part of a grapefruit peel. First taste is just like the aroma, and seems to have more body than it actually has. It tastes like an IPA but the taste is a thin and disappears quickly with a strange saltiness. There is also lingering, slightly sticky sweetness, with some warmth and bitterness. Overall, not bad at all, and fairly complex in taste. Not great, not my favorite IPA, but certainly a good introduction, as someone said earlier. PsionSaint (51), Colorado, USA Jun 25, 2008 A nice mellow IPA, golden color with mild hops aroma. This would be a good entry point to IPA World as it shouldn’t scare too many off with the harsh hop bite prevalent in some IPAs.
