The initial smell is a very nice, familiar IPA smell of citrus/orange peel. It’s orange like a normal IPA, but a little more clear than I’m used to. Now for the taste. Yum! This is surprisingly very good. Perfectly balanced to be ever so slightly bitter but a great session beer. I could probably have all 6 of these tonight. What a great surprise! edmajorjoe (79), Vail, Arizona, USA

I now know that if/when I need a decent hop fix, I can turn here and get it. Avaiable in the super-sized grocery stores too, so that’s another plus.
The beer pours out an amber/orange color with a nice creamy two-finger head. The aroma has a nice 1-2 punch of prickly, piney hops and a clean floral note. The beer really has a suprisingly sweet side to it, which I enjoy but some don’t. I thought it really helped balance the medium hop level in the beer to a certain degree. Honestly, I felt there weren’t enough hops for an IPA, but it wasn’t off by much. Perhaps if it were better attenuated the hops might get kicked up a notch or two. In the end, it’s a nice beer and one that I can recommend in the pinch. GreatLibations (1441), Last Supper, Arizona, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 28, 2008 BH is a honey colored IPA with a decent head on it. Lacing is minimal and aroma is good and spicy. It’s a full bodied ale with a good citrusy hop crunch and a malty backbone. The finish is bittered with citrus rind flavors. It’s an average IPA. highibus (428), Mill Creek, Washington, USA

At least there is some hop predence even though it is a little off. Oh well, it’s Widmer. ditmier (1059), Boise, Idaho, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 22, 2008 Pours a clear dark gold with white fizzy head. Floral hops, bitterness, citrus, grapefruit, hints of tropical fruit, and a small amount of caramel malt. Just your average IPA, but still worth a try and tastes pretty good.
