| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 27, 2006 Bottle. Pours golden with moderate carbonation, minimal head. Aroma is light piney hops, slight sweetness. Palate is dominated by citrus and piney hops, Cascade and Columbus in the description is correct. Solid bitterness, creates a sort of bite to the finish along with slight metallics. Widmer house flavor to this. Very traditional PNW IPA. jake65 (1725), Williston, North Dakota, USA

I like my IPA’s just a little more hopped, but this one is still not bad at all. Poured a cloudy gold with a medium white head and average lacing. Nice citrus and floral nose with a little bit of a grassy touch, and a great mouthfeel. Nice bitter finish. Really well balanced and quite drinkable and refreshing. sloth (1687), Ceciltucky, Co., Maryland, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 22, 2007 Small offwhite head, fair retention with a little spotty lace. Thinly hazy golden color, kinda ugly really. Nose of citrus, orange, a little honey and maybe a touch piney. Body is lightly medium with a light hop resin. Lightly coating on the palate. Citrus flavors up front, light grassiness, caramel malt shining through. Tangy metallic flavors arrive as it warms up. Notes of orange peel and just lightly fruity. Finish is fairly dry and uneventful. Thanks to that Texan fly for this one! douglas88 (1684), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 24, 2008 Bottle bought in Jackson, Wyoming. Pours a clear orange body with a small white head. The aroma is full of grapefruit and some caramel. The taste is very well balanced between juicy grapefruit, some sweet caramel malt, and a bit of bitterness in the finish. A very well crafted IPA. Enjoyable. GG (1680), NorCal, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 29, 2008 A very nice offering from the brewers at Widmer. I now know that if/when I need a decent hop fix, I can turn here and get it. Avaiable in the super-sized grocery stores too, so that’s another plus.
The beer pours out an amber/orange color with a nice creamy two-finger head. The aroma has a nice 1-2 punch of prickly, piney hops and a clean floral note. The beer really has a suprisingly sweet side to it, which I enjoy but some don’t. I thought it really helped balance the medium hop level in the beer to a certain degree. Honestly, I felt there weren’t enough hops for an IPA, but it wasn’t off by much. Perhaps if it were better attenuated the hops might get kicked up a notch or two. In the end, it’s a nice beer and one that I can recommend in the pinch. Sparky27 (1642), Phoenix, Arizona, USA
