Commercial Description:
Broken Halo IPA is a beer produced in the spirit of traditional IPA products shipped from the UK to India in the late 1800s. The almost excessive amounts of Cascade and Columbus hops used in Broken Halo give it notable citrus and grapefruit aromas and flavors. The beer bitterness measures high but tastes smooth due to the full-bodied, Caramel malt sweetness. The finish is juicy, clean, and short lived. A devilishly bold, heavenly smooth India Pale Ale. malts: PALE, CARAMEL 10L & 20L,carapils hops: ALCHEMY, CASCADE, zeus

Golden amber color with a fast diminishing head. Hop flavor is less noticable than other ipa’s. Bitter and sweet yet less and more malt on the palate. Malts are more present in the aroma too. Still drinkable, enjoyable yet somewhat dissapointed, more hop character!

~Pours a light amber gold color with frothy white head. Nice lacing. ~Pleasant aroma of citrus hops and lots of caramel malts. ~Mostly bitter flavor from hops. Sweetness is there, but overpowered by hops. Which is fine with me. ~Light feel. Bitter finish. I like IPA’s to be more heavy feeling and a bit sticky. ~Pretty good brew. Enjoyable to drink.

Bottle from Safeway in Medford Oregon. One of the milder IPA I’ve had. Still had that hoppy citurs taste but very muted. Very easy to drink and even on the palate, just not very complex. Good beer.

For Widmer Breweries a great IPA, full flavor and bitter. Nothing exciting, though Halo is supposed to be astounding. A great cheap drink.

This IPA tasted a bit like Kolsch and Pale got mixed in. The hops aren’t very crisp, and the aftertaste sits on the roof of the mouth and tongue. Flavors are of citrus, but it’s also very bitter. Little bit of malt. Eh.

12oz bottle. light amberishwith a thin white head typical citrus hops aromas. taste has some sweet carmel notes with the obvious hoppiness, although the hops aren’t too intense. A perfectly servicable brew, but nothing too interesting

Slight resin nose. Rich amber color. Citrus sweetness, with good bitterness, nicely balanced. Has a full body, good carbonation, slight alcohol burn late in the finish. A solid, restrained IPA.

No real aroma some slight aroma. Flavor is okay but just not quite up to par. At least there is some hop predence even though it is a little off. Oh well, it’s Widmer.
