Sep 15, 2006 A rather middle of the road IPA. A middle amber color with a fine amount of piney hop smell with some caramel malt notes. Tastes slightly hoppy with a few malt notes. Nothing special but a decent aftertaste with a slight hop kick but some yeasty taste to it that wasn’t so pleasent.

May 17, 2007 A 12 oz bottle with the date it was bottled on in small print on the front. The beer poured a very gold body with a off white small head, descent lacing. The smell was a lemon-lime citrus that makes your mouth water. The mouth feel was somewhat coating with a bitter hop flavor. The carbonation was low. A every day IPA.

Feb 9, 2008 Updated: Feb 13, 2008My initial poor rating of this IPA was due to the fact that I rated it at the onset of an acute viral infection that laid me low for 4 days. Pours an orange yellow with a minimal head and almost no lacing. Citrus aroma with some sweet undertones. The hops are subdued at first, making room for a clean bright taste to develop before asserting themselves with a flourish. All this happens within the first 2/3 of a swallow. Not a bad accomplishment. Aftertaste is clean and bitter. I’m glad I gave this a second shot.

Jun 10, 2008 Very little head. The beer is orange and very carbonated. The initial smell is a very nice, familiar IPA smell of citrus/orange peel. It’s orange like a normal IPA, but a little more clear than I’m used to. Now for the taste. Yum! This is surprisingly very good. Perfectly balanced to be ever so slightly bitter but a great session beer. I could probably have all 6 of these tonight. What a great surprise!

Jun 11, 2008 This is one of my favorite IPAs. This Broken Halo has a great citrusy flowery aroma. It pours into my favorite glass caramel like, with a full white, maybe off white head that stick around a while. The flavor is outstandingly citrusy and hoppy, with a little lovely bitterness in the background hidden by the subtle sweetness of the malts. And the beer is incredibly smooth... no harshness.

Mar 23, 2007 12 oz. bottle. Spun gold color, with a good solid head. Decent lacing. A nice, lighter side IPA. Hops not overpowering, but tasty.

Oct 23, 2006 A good IPA, but certainly nothing special. Pours a golden color, with an aroma of hops. Flavor is mostly hops, although by no means the hoppiest IPA out there. Malt is mostly subdued, so the finish is mostly lingering hops. A good beer, but not memorable.
