Commercial Description:
Broken Halo IPA is a beer produced in the spirit of traditional IPA products shipped from the UK to India in the late 1800s. The almost excessive amounts of Cascade and Columbus hops used in Broken Halo give it notable citrus and grapefruit aromas and flavors. The beer bitterness measures high but tastes smooth due to the full-bodied, Caramel malt sweetness. The finish is juicy, clean, and short lived. A devilishly bold, heavenly smooth India Pale Ale. malts: PALE, CARAMEL 10L & 20L,carapils hops: ALCHEMY, CASCADE, zeus

On tap at Pete’s Lair Tavern in Milwaukie, Oregon. Pours a clear dark golden pale brew with a thin white head thatquickly dissolves to a fine film. Aroma of sour citrus with some orange peel, and light caramel malt. Taste is medium bodied, well carbonated with flavors of roasted caramel malt, some grapefruit zest and some mellon character. (this is different) Finish is slightly sweet with an orange zest aftertaste.

This IPA pours a deep orange gold color from a 12oz bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is floral and piney hops, touch of caramel fruit. A medium to full bodied IPA. Malts are fruity and sweet. Hops are piney and floral and a touch of citrus. Juicy hops. Lively carbonation. Nice balance. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

This draft brew from the brewery poured a head of bubbles that were and left behind a transparent softly carbonated yellow colored body and a fair lacing. The mild aroma was malty. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and strongly tingly at the finish. The mild flavor contained notes of hops. Not one that I would likely buy again. A poor ipa.

Bottled. Thanks larsniclas. Clear golden colour with brief white head. Grapey, orangey aroma. Bit milky in mouthfeel, with solid grape-juice backbone in flavour, where the focus is here. Bitterness is just medium, and at that a bit papery. Pretty clean IPA here, and not at all astonishing.

On tap poured a hazy golden amber with a diminishing off white head. Aromas of carmel and light citrus. Palate was light bodied. Flavors of carmel and light generic citrus with a bitter finish. A boring one dimensional IPA.

Draft at Widmer Brothers BC, Portland, OR. Small ivory head that mostly diminished, very nice lacing, no carbonation was observed, transparent, and a golden hue. Nose was hoppy, grapefruit, citrus. Nicely done! Flavor was bitter, hoppy, citrus, grapefruit, and finishes somewhat dry. Mouthfeel was smooth and dry. Medium body. Very quaffable brew and definitely worthy of a try. I would drink this one again even considering that I am not a "hophead" by any means.
