Commercial Description:
Broken Halo IPA is a beer produced in the spirit of traditional IPA products shipped from the UK to India in the late 1800s. The almost excessive amounts of Cascade and Columbus hops used in Broken Halo give it notable citrus and grapefruit aromas and flavors. The beer bitterness measures high but tastes smooth due to the full-bodied, Caramel malt sweetness. The finish is juicy, clean, and short lived. A devilishly bold, heavenly smooth India Pale Ale. malts: PALE, CARAMEL 10L & 20L,carapils hops: ALCHEMY, CASCADE, zeus

Soapy white head and clear amber-gold body. Aroma of citrus, tea like malt and light sulfurous notes. Medium sweet, lightly toasted caramel flavors with tame bitterness and mild cleansing acidity. Passable beer, but very subdued for an IPA. More like a standard pale ale.

draft. Harvest gold with faint head. Hippy aroma that leads to a dry bitter body.

Golden color out of the bottle with a diminishing white head. Sharp citrus/grapefruit nose. Sweet grapefruit and orange juice citrus flavors with some buscuit malts. Hot hop burn on the tongue and a long orange peel bitterness in the finish. Easy drinking IPA.

Thanks to Pigboy for brining me this one from a trip out of state. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy bright golden-amber color with a small white head. The aroma was very nice with sweet with strong grapefruit and pine elements. The flavor was sweet, fruity and lightly peppery with notes of grapefruit, pine and floral hops. Quite nice.

Poured a hazed copper hue with nice boisterous white head. Nose of bright grapefuity hops. Slightly sweet and somewhat bitter. Pretty average all around, but the hops blending is very nice.

Bottled. Pours a bright abmer with a thin white head. Plenty of pine and bit of flowers on the nose but I’m not picking up much in the way of citrus. More pine in the taste, and the promised citrus. Seems a bit one dimensional.

12 oz. bottle - Pours a crystal clear deep golden color with a one finger thick off white head. Very soft carbonation. Light lacing. Aroma is citrus, pine, and light floral hops. Flavor is hops and lightly sweetened malt. Medium body. No lingering astringent aftertaste. A pretty good beer.

A slightly hazed yellow pour. An aroma of hops and malt. A tad mor malty than hoppy. A slightly thin palate not a bad beer. Just a little weak for the syle but very drinkable.
