Commercial Description:
Broken Halo IPA is a beer produced in the spirit of traditional IPA products shipped from the UK to India in the late 1800s. The almost excessive amounts of Cascade and Columbus hops used in Broken Halo give it notable citrus and grapefruit aromas and flavors. The beer bitterness measures high but tastes smooth due to the full-bodied, Caramel malt sweetness. The finish is juicy, clean, and short lived. A devilishly bold, heavenly smooth India Pale Ale. malts: PALE, CARAMEL 10L & 20L,carapils hops: ALCHEMY, CASCADE, zeus

Bottle from BevMo. Medium amber/golden colored upon pouring. Some sweet citric hoppy qualities in the nose. Decent hoppiness. Some bready qualities. Drinkable IPA with decent bitterness.

Amberish gold, creamy white head. Nicely hopped up nose of pine, juicy grapefruit, and lightly toasted caramel. Had almost a wet-hopped quality to it. Flavor was straight up hoppy bitterness from start to finish, crisp throughout, and just a touch of sweet malt bringing up the rear. Medium body, medium carbonation, bitter non harsh finish. Not the greatest ever, but certainly well done and easily a nice session brew...

pale gold color with a 1 finger off white head. not a bad hop scent that is a tiny citrusy. a very toned down hop profile that doesn’t get bitter until the beer finishes. fairly decent ipa here.

A yellow appearance with a lemon and perfume aroma. Some pine notes show throughout the beer. I taste some grapefruit, lemons, and oranges. A nice bitter finish. A good IPA.

This golden ale poured with a decent white head and a floral aroma. There is an adequate caramel malt base that is a bit sweet and some serious hop bitterness. This beer is drinkable, but the malt is too thin and the hops are out of balance.

22oz "Bottled Aug 21, 08." Clear light caramel orange with a 1/2 finger off-white head, fair retention. Aroma of lemon and piny hops up front and some clean lightly sweet caramel malts. From the aroma it seemed like only aroma hops got used--not really bitter--but was pleasantly surprised with the bitternerness peaking around a 4. The flavor didn?t have as much caramel sweetness that I got from the aroma, either. Low to moderate carbonation with a medium body. A medicro IPA.

12 oz. Clear, golden-orange with a small ring of creamy bubbles. Big grapefruit and floral aroma. Flavor starts with grapefruit, resin, and caramel. Finish has a bit too much leafy resin for my taste, and not enough malt. Still a decent IPA. Light-medium body is smooth and dry.

Deceptively light, but deeply hopped. Can’t find much in the way of malts here, but this is Hopslam level bitterness.
