Commercial Description:
Broken Halo IPA is a beer produced in the spirit of traditional IPA products shipped from the UK to India in the late 1800s. The almost excessive amounts of Cascade and Columbus hops used in Broken Halo give it notable citrus and grapefruit aromas and flavors. The beer bitterness measures high but tastes smooth due to the full-bodied, Caramel malt sweetness. The finish is juicy, clean, and short lived. A devilishly bold, heavenly smooth India Pale Ale. malts: PALE, CARAMEL 10L & 20L,carapils hops: ALCHEMY, CASCADE, zeus

(12oz, thanks Bück Dich) Medium off-white head atop a clear apple juice body. Aroma is medium sweet, pine, grapefruit, some grape. Taste is medium sweet, grapefruit, some grape, pine, bread, light caramel. Light-medium body, light acidity, easy drinking. Surprisingly balanced for a West Coast IPA.

Bottle purchased at the airport; don’t think that I have seen this one before. Color was gold with a smallish head. Aroma of citrus/grapefruit with some earth and grass. Flavor was surprisingly good; grassy hop flavor was better than most that I have had. Balanced nicely with some toasted caramel.

Im down to session this beer. Crisp IPA, the best Widmer offers in my opinion. But then again, many far better IPA’s are found. Could be hoppier

Sampled at the Arizona Craft Brewers Guild 2008 Strong Beer Fest, on February 17, at the Mesa Amphitheatre. 6/26/08: Clear medium golden color pour with a foamy head. Nice aroma of grapefruit peel and pine sap. Very similar flavor. Definayely hoppier than your average six-pack IPA. Not bad at all. Very refreshing on a warm summer night like tonight.

This is a very descent IPA. It pours a bubbley gold color, with a smooth hop taste.

12 oz. Clear, golden-orange with a small ring of creamy bubbles. Big grapefruit and floral aroma. Flavor starts with grapefruit, resin, and caramel. Finish has a bit too much leafy resin for my taste, and not enough malt. Still a decent IPA. Light-medium body is smooth and dry.

Bottle from HEB.dated APR0307. Poors a golden amber color, decent white head. Good hop taste with very slight map to the ratio. Nice clean flavor. Decent IPA though I think it could use a bit more hop.
