Commercial Description:
Broken Halo IPA is a beer produced in the spirit of traditional IPA products shipped from the UK to India in the late 1800s. The almost excessive amounts of Cascade and Columbus hops used in Broken Halo give it notable citrus and grapefruit aromas and flavors. The beer bitterness measures high but tastes smooth due to the full-bodied, Caramel malt sweetness. The finish is juicy, clean, and short lived. A devilishly bold, heavenly smooth India Pale Ale. malts: PALE, CARAMEL 10L & 20L,carapils hops: ALCHEMY, CASCADE, zeus

This orange amber pour has a floral hops aroma. This brings out a nice bitter yet drinkable taste in the flavor.

From bottle bought at a store somewhere between Portland and Ashland, OR. Clear, filtered crisp appearance. Small, white minimal head. Low head retention. Sweet, subdued hop aroma. SRM is very light, very appropriate for the style. Flowery, grapefruit, mango hop flavor with a solid back-of-the tongue hop bitterness. Sweet and caramel, but not so sweet that is lays on your tongue. I’d really like to try this with lower carbonation on hand pump. A bit commercial, a bit sanitized, but as a result it’s balanced, damn tasty and drinkable. Better than you might expect from wheat beer fanatics. Good!

A rather middle of the road IPA. A middle amber color with a fine amount of piney hop smell with some caramel malt notes. Tastes slightly hoppy with a few malt notes. Nothing special but a decent aftertaste with a slight hop kick but some yeasty taste to it that wasn’t so pleasent.

355 ml bottle. Golden bronze body with an off-white head. Aroma is fruity, citrus/grapefruit. Flavor is also fruity, citrus with sweet malt and a sharp, balanced bitterness. A nice, plain, straightforward IPA for everyday use.

Hazy dark orange body with dense white head. Complex hop aromas with hints of grass and pine. Smooth balance of malt and hop flavor. Nice bitter finish.

(Bottle) Pours a light amber color with a mediocre white head. Aroma is there, but a little more mild than one might expect. Taste is pretty equally balanced between hops and malt. Dusty, dry finish. This beer actually exceeded my expectations, but is a pretty average IPA overall.

Poured a relatively pale copper color with a solid, two-finger tall white head that produced good lacing. The aroma was mostly pine hops. Some softer floral and citrus notes were present but were washed over by the pine. The flavor was dry pine hops and only a touch of sweeter caramel malts. Very little citrus in the flavor. Thin and dry. Not bad, just pretty one-dimensional.
