Aroma is pine and citrus hops. Taste is primarily piney hops but there is enough grapefruit there to keep it refreshing and give a little pleasant sweetness. Not as resiny as some other piney IPAs. Mouthfeel is nice, not too clingy. Very drinkable IPA. Not my favorte, but very good. utleyma (1), Texas, USA does not count | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 11, 2007 Being a fan of the more citrusy IPAs, Broken Halo is right up my alley. This is an IPA that I would suggest to people who aren’t too familiar with the style. CaptBier (303), Birmingham, Alabama, USA

The flavor is sweet with strong notes of grass as well as grapefruit, leading to a dry bitter finish. TChrome (1303), Bedford, Texas, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 3, 2007 Beer pours clear golden color with a retained egg white head and heavy lacing. Beer is seriously hoppy in aroma with heavy citrus, especially grapefruit. Essentially one dimensionally hoppy, but hey this is an IPA. Flavor is likewise citrus hop juice. I really like this. carboloader (325), Houston, Texas, USA

I’m a big IPA fan and this one pours transparent amber/copper with a medium head. Delicious apricot floral and pine bouquet, sweeter, fruitier tones than some IPAs. Enticing! Found the first sip to be surprisingly crisp and fruity with a nice long bitter finish -- exquisite. Not overwhelmed with acohol flavor or syrupy sweet malts -- pretty darn exceptional for a session IPA in my opinion. Light, gulpable, but true to the style (at the Cascade hop varieties). Try it -- you will like it. 6% alcohol. arondee (180), Tucson, Arizona, USA

The initial smell is a very nice, familiar IPA smell of citrus/orange peel. It’s orange like a normal IPA, but a little more clear than I’m used to. Now for the taste. Yum! This is surprisingly very good. Perfectly balanced to be ever so slightly bitter but a great session beer. I could probably have all 6 of these tonight. What a great surprise! darbish (81), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 15, 2007 I really like this one, it’s a solid IPA in my opinion. Nice and bitter, but not so much to keep you from enjoying it. The description lists a citrus flavor, and while this is definitely true, the flavor is subtle and gives the beer a refreshing taste. Recommended for sure. 944play (66), Santa Rosa, California, USA

Pith of grapefruit dominates the nose. This is about as much hops as I can enjoy. Stays sharp and refreshing as it warms. Malts recede. Pretty well exemplifies the style for me, and I like it. POSTSCRIPT: Absolutely does NOT pair with Vietnamese dried cuttlefish snacks!
