Fruity aroma with some pear compliments strong citrus hop and and mellow caramel malt smells with a hint of roastiness. Sweet and hoppy with grapefruit and crystal mlalt flavor. A little too bitter with a bit of astringency. Decent body with low carbonation.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 27, 2009 Bottle pours amber orange with a thin white head. Aroma is heavy on citrus hops. Taste is sweet caramel malts with a bitter citrus finish. Heavily hopped for an amber ale yet the flavors balance well. poisoneddwarf (221), Rathdrum, Idaho, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 24, 2009 Sample from 12 oz bottle. Aroma of piney hopsl. Smells extremely hoppy for an amber ale. Pours amber with a medium head, beautiful lacing. Taste is woody. Starts a little sweet, finishes bitter, cheesy (!!!). Tastes more like a pale than an amber but I suppose labels aren’t important. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 12/20 | Dec 7, 2009 Pours a nice red. Great citrus hops smell. The flavor is citrus and pine hops well balanced by the roasty malt. Like a winter IPA but red. Very enjoyable. Leaves behind some lovely lacing. Nena (181), West Seattle, Washington, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 6, 2009 Bottle. Pours a red orange with a moderate off-white head. Has a sharp hoppy aroma, with lots of mandarin orange and grapefruit citrus. Flavor is a bit of toasty sweet, fruity malt, with a pine and grapefruit hop finish. An above average winter warmer with a nice balance of sweetness and hops. I’m surprised it’s classified as an amber ale considering this is hopped up to IPA levels. Sammer (37), Plano, Texas, USA
