Bottle. OK, obvious ale yeast. Toffee, apple, soy, caramel, bit sticky, with some noticeable alcohol. Not a favoured style, but it was OK.

Almost no aroma to this. deep ruby color. Flavor is rich with fruits and hops. A citrus ester was in deep in the flavor but jumped out at me in the end.

bottle, a year or two old, i forget. reddish brown colour, some cocoa, fish sauce and caramel in the aroma. still a big hit of alcohol, not that much bitterness, some stone fruits, passable

On tap at the tap house. Pours deep cherry red with a fast falling white head. Sweet malt aroma with chocolate and caramel. The first taste I noticed was some cocoa up front followed with a rich caramel body, some nice weight on the palate showed the thicker body of this beer. Very well balanced but fairly mild doppelbock.

This was not bad. Brown with some ruby highlights, and a nice creamy head and some sticky lacing. A little bit of herbaly sweetness right up front followed by some stick chocolate and caramel. Strong oily mouthfeel, not bad, not my favorite, but still well made.

Dark red pour with some lace. Candied nose. Sweet caramel flavors. It's a doppelbock.

This is only available off tap I believe, at the brewpub. Starts with a nice clean and semi sweet flavor, but by the time I got to the bottom of the glass, I was having to work just to get the stuff down. Darker than I would expect, but something just didn’t line up right for this beer.

On Tap At Widmer Brothers brewery/pub in Portland OR. pours out a nice rich brown topped with a tan head. A little bit of sweet of caramel.
