Commercial Description:
With its unique citrus character, smooth drinkability, and distinctive hop character, Drifter Pale Ale is truly an original. Brewed with generous amounts of Summit hops, a variety known for their intense citrus flavors and aromas, Drifter has a taste unique to the Pale Ale category. True to style, the bittering hops are perceptible enough to give the beer a crisp, clean, quenching finish, yet also soft enough to keep the beer smooth and balanced. 2006 GABF Silver Medal Winner

This poured a nice amber color with a big white head. Aroma swas citrus and bittering hops, a bit grassy as well. Flavor was actually very surprising. Nice nots of clean citrus and some pine hops as well. Much better taste then expected and a surprise.

the color after the pour is a cloudy amber with no head but streaked laceing along the side walls of the glass. The nose is very floral and full of hop aroma with some hints of lemon grass and other citric notes. The initial flavor is nice and bitter and it bites your tongue. Then there is hints of caramle malt and other grains finishing it clean and refreshing with the right amount of carbonation.

Thick, ripe fruit accented malt character. An herbal, woody caramel malt body with a dull citrus hop character. A bit too sweet.

On draft at The Note, West Chester. Poured deep copper with some splotches of lace. Flavor is of tangy citrus with an interesting spicy finish. A pleasant surprise.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Gilly’s, 7/14/09

Aroma: Nose is dominated by citrus, some pine, some bread, some wood, smell is pretty hop dominant
Appearance: Mostly clear orange-amber color, small head, light lacing
Flavor: Not as hoppy as the nose, starts off with malty sweetness, and the hoppiness increases in the finish
Palate: Medium body, decent mouthfeel
Overall Impression: I really liked the nose on this one, and it was pretty solid, but I felt just a little let down by the taste coming off a really nice nose.

Bottle. Poured orangy / amber in color with a white head. The aroma was that of citrus, hops and malts. Tasted quite hoppy for a pale ale with a nice citrus mallty flavor. Mouthfeel was exquisite and left a nice hoppy flavor in your mouth. Overall a nice APA.
