Commercial Description:
With its unique citrus character, smooth drinkability, and distinctive hop character, Drifter Pale Ale is truly an original. Brewed with generous amounts of Summit hops, a variety known for their intense citrus flavors and aromas, Drifter has a taste unique to the Pale Ale category. True to style, the bittering hops are perceptible enough to give the beer a crisp, clean, quenching finish, yet also soft enough to keep the beer smooth and balanced. 2006 GABF Silver Medal Winner

On tap. Nice amber pour. Great hop presence o the aroma and flavor - west coast floral and citrus hops. however, about 2/3 of the way through this beer, it started to taste a bit watery and plain.

This was purchased at Whole Foods in Richmond. The APA was good but not special. The head was smallish and disappeared. The color was an attractive slightly clear amber. The finish was smooth and a hint of bitterness. The APA had a medium body with some sweetness. This is a drinkable APA but not remarkable. I purchased a 6 pack at Total Wine and adjusted my rating. It is milder than I remmeber.

Was not expecting much from this brewery, but this was very good for the style. Lightly bitter citrus hops with a piney aroma. Other sweet fruits in the taste - mango. Well balanced with a significant caramel malt flavor. Medium bodied, not as thin as expected. Very crisp, clean, and drinkable.

BOTTLE: copper pour, citrus and pine on the nose. Easy drinking, but not spectacular.

Very light amber appearance, almost orange when viewed from a certain angle. Scents of citrus are accurate to the mild, sweet and balanced flavor. Very small head dissipates immediately. Slightly higher alcohol content is not apparent by the flavor. Great product, would be very appealing those who know what to look for in an ale as well as those who usually aren’t big fans.

(12oz bottle, bottled 4/01/09) Small beige head atop clear amber body. Aroma is medium sweet, pine, bread, some floral/orange/grapefruit. Taste is moderately sweet, mango, orange, some bread. Light-medium body, light resin. Tasty!

On tap at Fox and Hound in Lone Tree, CO. Pours copper with white head. Aroma is loaded with citrus and pine with tons of hops for a APA. Flavor is nice and hoppy with citrus, caramel malt and a little pine. This is a really good sessional APA. Every bar should have this on tap.
