Commercial Description:
With its unique citrus character, smooth drinkability, and distinctive hop character, Drifter Pale Ale is truly an original. Brewed with generous amounts of Summit hops, a variety known for their intense citrus flavors and aromas, Drifter has a taste unique to the Pale Ale category. True to style, the bittering hops are perceptible enough to give the beer a crisp, clean, quenching finish, yet also soft enough to keep the beer smooth and balanced. 2006 GABF Silver Medal Winner

12 oz. bottle served in shaker- poured transparent darkened amber brown, low carbonation, slight film of white for a head with a whole lot of bubbles. Aroma of pine hops, citrus, and wet gym socks that have had heavy use everyday and haven’t been washed in a month- ugh. Hits the mouth with a medium body, malt is there but has an odd taste much like the way B.O smells (yeah, I wanna puke) throughout, some sweetness lingers after the finish. Way Wide left and short for me on this brew-I KNEW I should have picked up a different 6’er than this one! And that’s why this has been on sale for a month now kids...

~Pours a clear reddish amber with thick off white head. ~Has a somewhat peachy scent with some woodsy notes and grapefruit. Smells fresh and delicious. ~Sweet fruity like flavor of peach and grapefruit. ~Medium body. Very soft and smooth. ~This Pale ale doesn’t disappoint.

12 oz. bottle, pours a clear amber with a small head. Scent is slight citrus and caramel. Tastes similar and I was pleasantly surprised with the Pale Ale.

Picked this one up as a single at the local supermarket liquor store. Pours a nice copper/amber color with a big foamy offwhite head. Nice hoppy pale ale aroma and taste. Somewhat of a sour citrusy aftertaste. Very refreshing.

bottled jan 21, 2009 consumed not long after... pours a clear pale copper color with a big ’ol creamy barely off white head. this smells of caramel, grass and grapefruit with a slight hint of non resinous pine in the background. it tastes like... well, if you could make cream of grapefruit with a splash of caramel... that’d be it! there are some spots of malt, spice and pine but, for the most part, it tastes like creamed grapefruit. this is surprisingly fuller bodied with a foamy mouth feel from sudsy carbonation...6/3/6/4/12/3.1

Tap at Flying Saucer. Thanks, Janell! Pours a decent amber with a nice off-white head and an aroma of sweet fruit and grapefruit. The taste is a bizarre mix of sour fruit and body odor. Yes, body odor. It smells like this one dude at my gym who needs to either bathe or roll in some dog poo- either would be a marked improvement over his ’musky’ aroma he so proudly eminates. Holy crap, THAT’S BODY ODOR. Ugh. Calgon, take it away.

Clear amber with a white head. Nice piney, grassy hop aromas. medium body. Tasty floral and pine hop flavors riding a lightly sweet pale malt base brew.
