Pours a decent amber with a nice off-white head and an aroma of sweet fruit and grapefruit. The taste is a bizarre mix of sour fruit and body odor. Yes, body odor. It smells like this one dude at my gym who needs to either bathe or roll in some dog poo- either would be a marked improvement over his ’musky’ aroma he so proudly eminates. Holy crap, THAT’S BODY ODOR. Ugh. Calgon, take it away. AmEricanbrew (1946), orange, California, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 8, 2009 Draught at Rounding Third. Unexpected and somewhat welcome. Though Drifter failed to impress me very much, it it solid and quite drinkable. Dark copper with a thick off-white head. Surprisingly forceful hop aroma with lots of oily and sappy and grapefruit accents. There is some thin, toasty malt on the tongue and light hop bitterness. Finishes dry and watery. The nice hop aroma is the definite high-point of the beer, with flavor and finish degrading sequentially from there. For an APA nearing the higher end of the spectrum, I’m surprised at how light and devoid of malt this is. The bonus is that this is an APA that you could session in the sun on a hot day and not really get tired of. tombb25 (3), USA does not count | 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Apr 7, 2009 Amber pour, nice head and aroma. A lot of citrus and pine on the nose made it alluring. Found this to be quite a dissapointment, actually used some of their Hef to wash it down, the orange peel flavor is a little overbearing, it was watery at the front and then the peel kicked in and left a lingering grapefruit impression, wasn’t what I expected, I’m sure many will like it though. ericandersnavy (1139), crossroads, Texas, USA

Pours a clear brownish red color body with a small off-white head, quickly diminishing. Aroma is dry grapefruit. Some bitterness too. But pretty weak overall. Somewhat watery dry taste. Some malty nuttiness. Some hoppy bitterness. Weak bland taste. carruthm (1175), Seattle, Washington, USA
