Commercial Description:
With its unique citrus character, smooth drinkability, and distinctive hop character, Drifter Pale Ale is truly an original. Brewed with generous amounts of Summit hops, a variety known for their intense citrus flavors and aromas, Drifter has a taste unique to the Pale Ale category. True to style, the bittering hops are perceptible enough to give the beer a crisp, clean, quenching finish, yet also soft enough to keep the beer smooth and balanced. 2006 GABF Silver Medal Winner

Medium amber with a thinnish head. Mouthfeel seemed light and watery. Malt flavors were husky, with a bit of sweetness that made me think of watered-down caramel and nuts. A bit woodsy, too. Fruity and plant-like hops. Mild bitterness. OK for a session beer, just not very exciting. Alcohol his hidden dangerously well.

Bottle; Pours a nice looking clear amber with off-white head. Aroma is nice, malty, faint floral. Flavor is malty, nice use of flavor hops, faint bitter in the back. Mouth feel is medium body, high carbonation. Overall, a tasty, easy drinking beer, enjoyable.

12 oz bottle. Poured into my favorite tulip beer glass. Pours a crisp copper color with a nice, persistent off white head that laces my glass. Nose is full of flowery hops with a twist... is it freshly cut hay? Taste is very nice. Plenty of hops and a good balance. The finish is odd. Not odd=bad, but really odd = pretty good, but strange. Overall, this is a very sessionable beer.

Wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about this beer. Overall I was pleasantly surprised. Nice floral hop aromas. Good citrusy flavors. Medium bodied. Score would have been higher, but something on the finish was funky. Overall a decent pale.

33 cl bottle, Fargo, ND, USA. Light amber/copper, spicy hopped aroma with some floral notes. Medium bodied, medium hop with some yeasty bread finish. Very nice, especially for the price.

The look is clear, copper in color, with a decent beige head. The smell is caramel, hops, pine, spices from the hops, and earthy. The taste is hops, earthy, pine, and caramel. Better than expected.

Sampled on 2/21/09. This American pale Ale pours a orange gold color from a 12oz bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is floral and citrusy with some caramel malt. A medium bodied American Pale Ale. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are floral and citrusy. Nice balance. Kind of a standard brew pub Pale Ale. The bitterness seems a little subdued. Might be a little under carbonated. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
