Commercial Description:
With its unique citrus character, smooth drinkability, and distinctive hop character, Drifter Pale Ale is truly an original. Brewed with generous amounts of Summit hops, a variety known for their intense citrus flavors and aromas, Drifter has a taste unique to the Pale Ale category. True to style, the bittering hops are perceptible enough to give the beer a crisp, clean, quenching finish, yet also soft enough to keep the beer smooth and balanced. 2006 GABF Silver Medal Winner

Greets you with a sweet floral aroma. After sipping the beer, you quickly realize this beer is meant to be drank. Hop pressence through put the entire swallow. Bitterness at the end. Good beer. I would order this over sierra nevada for the more floral citrus hops!

Full amber with a modest white head from a gentle pour. Fair amount of lacings. Aroma of citrus hops. Taste is citrus orange pinapple with a sweet caramel malt. It does have a moderate amount of hop bitterness and an IBU of 32. A very drinkable, slightly sweet Pale Ale. Very nice brew Widmer.

12oz bottle. Pours a clear brownish red with a very small tan head that dissipates quickly. The nose is bright and hoppy, with black pepper, grapefruit, and pine accents. The taste is gorgeously hoppy, but just a little weak for the style. I’m a fan, but I could go for a little more variety on the tongue.
