| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 9, 2009 On tap at the draughthouse. Pours a rich red amber color with a nice cream head. Smell at first is very vibrant and extremely fruity and hoppy. Fades somewhat quickly though, it seemed. Taste is cereal like sweet malt and the hops are more dull than in the nose. A bit bland overall, after a promising nose. Drinkable and unoffensive, but a mild, average pale ale, it seemed. troopie (909), USA

Aroma of grapefruit, orange, naartjies and flowers. Nice hoppy flavour, but not as hoppy as an IPA. Hoppier than most pales, again I’d call this a Cape if there was such a class. Lasting hoppish finish. A good bier overall Beardface (1036), Eugene, Oregon, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 6, 2009 Pours a nice dark orange with a medium sized white head that left behind some nice bubbles. Hefty grapefruit in both nose and flavor, and I agree with the previous reviewer who noted some pineapple as well. Nice hop bite at the back end, and quite easily the best Widmer beer I’ve ever tasted. Why not brew more like these, Bros? ilovedarkbeer (1369), Dallas, Texas, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 24, 2009 On tap at trinity hall. Copper colored pour with a small light tan head. Nose is biscuits, caramel, floral, and citrus. Not bad! Taste is sweet and fruity as well but the finish is kind of like licking an envelope in a bitter sweet way. The body is kind of thin but at the same time it is supple. Highly quaffable. LtDan (537), Los Angeles County, California, USA

Appearance: A dark orange/amber body that lets about 50% light through. Started with a 1/2 inch sudsy head that subsided it to some gathering suds.
Aroma: Grapefruit and light amounts of pine up front. I also found a hint of pineapple.
Taste: A floral, tropical hops flavor right off the bat followed by a slight bitter hop bite in the finish. A decent level of malt held both layers together.
Mouthfeel: Finishes dry and crisp, leaving your tongue needing refreshment of more.
Overall: An excelent American Pale Ale. One of my favorite Pale Ales, Firestone Walker Pale 31, has many of these qualities.
